Overview

One machine. Two handle types.
Half the capital expenditure.

The SAGLIN-RZFD-TF series is built around a single commercial insight: most paper bag converters serving retail need both twisted-rope handle and flat-handle production capability, but cannot justify buying two separate machines for it. Every RZFD-TF machine integrates both processes onto one platform, with a 5–10 minute changeover between modes.

“For converters serving mixed retail — apparel, takeaway food, supermarket carriers — twin-handle capability is the difference between one capex line item and two.”

Six configurations span the full retail bag spectrum: the flagship RZFD-330TF for the high-speed mid-format shopping bag market at 200 bags/min, the 450ATF / 450BTF for wider formats, and the printing-ready 400NTF / 450NTF / 550NTF for large-format and inline-printed branded carriers up to 550 mm wide. One line covers approximately 70% of the global retail paper bag market without the floor space, operator, and maintenance overhead of two parallel machines.

Every RZFD-TF machine ships with electrical and pneumatic specifications adapted for the Russian market (380V / 50Hz, EAC support). Installation, commissioning, and operator training are handled by our partner HD RUS LLC in the Moscow region.

The RZFD-330TF flagship achieves its 200 bags/min peak on mid-format shopping bags. Wider 450/550 configurations run at 120–150 bags/min. The NTF models (400NTF / 450NTF / 550NTF) use shaftless Φ76 mm paper cores and Φ1500 mm roll diameters for larger-format and printing-ready production. Twisted-rope handle mode typically settles 10–15% below flat-handle mode at sustained speeds. Specifications subject to continuous improvement.

The Two-Machines-in-One Economics

Replace two parallel lines with one twin-handle machine.

The traditional approach to mixed-handle retail bag production requires two dedicated machines — one for twisted-rope, one for flat handle — running in parallel. The capital, floor space, operator, and maintenance overhead of this approach is the single largest barrier to entry for new converters.

The RZFD-TF eliminates that barrier. One machine, one operator, one maintenance schedule — producing the full retail bag spectrum with a 5–10 minute mode changeover. For typical mid-volume converters, the savings represent the difference between a viable business case and one that doesn’t close.

Choosing one twin-handle machine over two single-handle lines frees factory floor for additional production capacity or warehousing, and halves the electrical and operator overhead.

−40%

Typical Capex Reduction

Buying one RZFD-TF instead of two single-handle machines typically saves 35–45% on combined equipment investment, before counting floor space, electrical infrastructure, and operator costs. Actual savings depend on your factory baseline and target output mix.

Applications

Where the RZFD-TF performs.

The RZFD-TF series is designed for retail-mix converters — those serving multiple end markets requiring different handle types from a single production line.

Mixed Retail

Supermarket & Apparel

The core target market — supermarket carriers requiring twisted-rope, plus apparel and takeaway bags requiring flat handle. The twin-handle capability lets one machine serve both account types without splitting production.

Takeaway & QSR

Restaurant & Fast-Food Bags

Quick-service restaurant bags often switch between premium twisted-rope (sit-down chains) and economy flat handle (fast-casual). One machine covers both account tiers — critical for converters serving multi-brand restaurant groups.

Cosmetics & Beauty

Brand Retail Bags

Cosmetics retail typically requires flat-handle bags for routine point-of-sale and twisted-rope for premium gift packaging. With optional inline 4-color flexo, the NTF models run both directly from the kraft roll with brand artwork.

Frequently Asked

Questions before signing the contract.

Which configuration should I choose across the six RZFD-TF models?
Choose based on your widest target bag and whether you need inline printing. RZFD-330TF is the flagship volume choice — up to 200 bags/min on mid-format shopping bags (cutting length 270–530 mm). RZFD-450ATF / 450BTF cover wider formats (cutting length up to 760 mm). The NTF models (400NTF / 450NTF / 550NTF) add shaftless roll support and Φ1500 mm roll capacity for large-format and printing-ready production up to 550 mm wide. All six produce both twisted-rope and flat handle on one platform.
How long does the changeover between twisted-rope and flat-handle mode actually take?
5–10 minutes under typical shop-floor conditions. The changeover involves swapping the handle module (mechanical, no tools), recalling the saved job recipe on the HMI, and one calibration test pass. Operators trained by HD RUS achieve the lower end of the range after the first month of production. The changeover does not require an engineer or factory technician.
What is the realistic production speed under shop-floor conditions?
The RZFD-330TF reaches 200 bags/min peak on smaller bag formats with calibrated 60–100 g/m² paper. Wider models run lower: 450ATF/450NTF at 30–150 bags/min, 550NTF at 30–120 bags/min. In two-shift production with mid-size bags on standard 100–120 g/m² kraft, sustained averages settle 10–15% below peak, and twisted-rope mode typically runs 10–15% below flat-handle mode. Inline flexo printing reduces sustained speed by a further 15–25%.
What is the lead time and payment structure?
Lead time: 45–60 days from receipt of 30% deposit. Payment terms: 30% T/T down payment, 70% T/T before shipment. Shipment: by vessel on pallets to St. Petersburg or Novorossiysk (typically 35–45 days transit). Warranty: 12 months from acceptance. Quote validity is 6 months from issue date.
Can I order without inline printing, then add it later?
The inline flexographic printing unit is available as a factory-fit option, and the NTF models (400NTF / 450NTF / 550NTF) are configured for printing-ready production. Retrofitting after delivery is technically possible but requires factory re-commissioning and electrical re-cabling — we recommend specifying the printing option at the quotation stage if there is any near-term likelihood of running branded bags.
Is the machine EAC certified for the Russian market?
SAGLIN-RZFD-TF carries CE certification from factory. EAC certification (Russian Customs Union conformity declaration) is arranged through our partner HD RUS LLC in the Moscow region as part of the turnkey delivery package. Estimated certification lead time: 30–45 days, included in our standard project schedule.
What spare parts inventory should I keep?
We recommend a 12-month spare parts kit covering belts, sensors, electrical contactors, and pneumatic valves at approximately 3–5% of machine value. Cutting blades, gluing nozzles, and rope-forming components are wear items with predictable replacement intervals. HD RUS LLC keeps a fast-moving parts inventory in Khimki and ships within 24 hours across Russia.
What installation and training is included?
Installation is performed by SAGLIN engineers with HD RUS local support. The customer covers round-trip tickets, hotel, and meals for the engineers. Operator training is 5 working days, conducted in Russian by HD RUS technical staff, including paper selection, glue formulation, twin-handle mode changeover procedures, and troubleshooting common production issues.
