Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about packaging forming equipment
These are two complementary steps in paperboard packaging production:
- Die cutting: uses steel blades mounted on dies to cut the packaging outline and create
fold lines (crease scores) on paperboard or cardboard sheets. This is the first step — transforming the
sheet into a "blank" with the box shape.
- Folder-gluer: receives the already cut
and creased blanks, folds them along the crease lines, and applies hot or cold glue to form the finished
box ready for use.
Simple analogy: die cutting is like "cutting and marking" a clothing pattern; folder-gluer is like "sewing" the final piece.
A window patcher is essential for packaging that requires visual access to the inner product without opening the package:
- Food: boxes for candies, chocolates, cookies, pasta
-
Cosmetics: boxes for perfumes, creams, makeup
-
Toys and electronics: allows product identification without breaking the seal
-
Pharmaceutical products: medicine boxes with visible blister packs
Window materials: PET, PVC, or PLA (biodegradable) films, applied with water-based or hot-melt adhesive, depending on compatibility with the inner product.
Our bag-making machines produce various models, adjustable by configuration:
- Twisted-handle bag: V-shaped twisted handles, reinforced bottom. Department stores,
boutiques.
- Flat-handle bag: straight handles glued internally. Supermarkets,
pharmacies.
- Square-bottom bag: "paper sack" style bottom. Coffee shops,
convenience stores.
- Envelope / Pouch: no handle, with sealing flap. E-commerce,
mailings.
- Natural kraft bag: recycled paper, eco-friendly appearance. Organic
products, sustainable brands.
Customization: up to 6-color printing can be applied during the bag forming process.
A corner-pasting machine applies reinforcing paper strips or adhesive tape to the inner corners of rigid boxes and luxury packaging.
Structural function: without corner reinforcement, rigid boxes lose their square shape over time and with handling, especially when stacked or transported.
Products that require corner pasting: gift boxes and luxury packaging (watches, jewelry, premium electronics), collectible book sets, high-end cosmetic packaging, wine and premium beverage boxes.
- Flatbed Die Cutting: medium speed (2,000-5,000 sheets/hour), very high precision (±0.1
mm), ideal for cardboard and micro-flute, complex shapes. Higher die cost, changeover in 30-60 min.
-
Rotary Die Cutting: high speed (8,000-15,000 sheets/hour), high precision (±0.3 mm),
ideal for corrugated board of all types, simple to moderate shapes. Lower die cost, changeover in 10-20
min.
Recommendation: high volumes of simple corrugated boxes → rotary; luxury packaging in cardboard with complex details → flatbed.
